About Us

Hello! I'm Rachel Alethea - designer and illustrator, and big sister of this duo. I love coffee, doodle obsessivley and listen to way more podcasts than I care to admit to. I just moved to Seattle with my husband and love exploring our new home city!

Hi! I'm Rebecca Ruth - creative writer and illustrator, and little sister of this duo. I recently graduated, got married and moved into the cutest little craftsman bungalo in southern California. I love vintage ephemera, dream of someday having a library in my home and wish I could spend my whole day drawing and sewing.

{from ruth} Marketing

One of my favorite things about the summer months is the weekly farmer's market across the street from my house. While it does make parking on the street when I get home impossible, I still love it. My husband and I have our favorite spots we have to visit each week. The bread tent where all bread is 4$, the flower tent-just so I can browse, and the hummus/pita tent-where they let you sample as many kinds as you want even if you don't buy anything! The market is next to an open courtyard where there is always live music, tons of kids playing the water jet fountain, and as many kinds of dogs as you can imagine.

Some of our favorite treats to get while we wander around the atmosphere are kettle corn and honey-sticks. I also love to browse the cactus plant tent, as we live in the cement dessert known as LA, the little drought resistant flowering plants make up a large part of my outdoor decor.Just so you can share in the joy of marketing from where ever you are, here are a few ways to find 1. Kettle Corn, 2. tiny cactus/succulent plants, and 3. flavored honey sticks for yourself!

I just love seeing the mounds of produce all lined up. Each Thursday I gain a renewed determination to learn how to cook and make use of the delicious veggies and fruit I find. But then again, I could just buy flowers and a loaf of banana bread.

Oh how fun - I do miss the sweet Thursday night market. The pita and hummus stand was always my favorite as well :)
